Kathleen's Tips for a Seamless Labor Day Weekend
Thursday night's harbor fireworks light up the waterfront — arrive early for prime viewing at Stage Fort Park. Sunday morning's Parade of Sail (10:30 AM) fills Stacy Boulevard quickly, so park at Stage Fort Park or downtown garages and walk the harborfront promenade.
Crane Beach requires pre-reserved parking passes via The Trustees website. For Plum Island, arrive before 10:00 AM on sunny weekend days as refuge parking lots reach capacity quickly.
Waterfront dining in Essex, Newburyport, Gloucester, and Salem experiences high demand over holiday weekends. Put your name in early or visit during mid-afternoon off-peak hours.
