Selling Your Home · Straight answer from Kathleen
When is the best time of year to sell a house on the North Shore?
Spring and early summer bring the most buyers to the North Shore, but the best time to sell is really when your home is ready and your life is ready, because a well-priced home in good condition sells in every season.

- Should I sell my house now or wait?
The spring market is real: more buyers are out, gardens are in bloom, and daylight shows the coast at its best. That can mean more competition among buyers and, sometimes, stronger prices. But I have closed sales in every month of the year, including January.
What matters more than the calendar is your situation. If you are moving for a job, a life change, or simply because you are ready, waiting eight months for a "better" season usually costs more in life terms than it gains in price terms.
My honest advice: time your sale around your needs, then make the home show at its best for the season it is. We can talk through the trade-offs specific to your property.
On the North Shore
On the North Shore, the spring-to-early-summer window is strongest, and the coastal towns see a second surge of interest from buyers who want to be in by summer. Commuter towns like Beverly tend to hold steady year-round, while seasonal coastal markets like Rockport and Gloucester ebb and flow more with the warm months.
