North Shore Real Estate · Straight answer from Kathleen

How do I choose the right North Shore community for me?

You choose it the way you choose any good home: by matching a town's real life to your actual one. Commute, budget, housing stock, and character narrow the list, and then you go walk the streets.

  • Which North Shore town is right for me?

Start with the practical columns: how you commute, what you can spend, what kind of home you want, and what you do on weekends. Beverly and Salem deliver walkable centers and the rail line. Ipswich trades in beaches and history. Gloucester, Rockport, and Essex offer working-harbor coastal life. Newburyport combines a vibrant downtown with river and sea.

Then get personal: visit a weekday morning and a Saturday, walk the downtown, look at the housing stock in your range, and imagine ordinary life there. The town that fits your real routine is the right one.

I know these towns street by street, and I will be honest when a town fits your list and when it does not. That honesty saves you months.
