Selling Your Home · Straight answer from Kathleen
Do I need to clean everything out before I sell?
You do not need to live like a monk to sell, but you do need the house to feel open, light, and ready for someone else's life. That starts with clearing the clutter a buyer would stumble over.

- What should I get rid of before showing my house?
Start with the spaces buyers actually inspect: the entry, the kitchen counters, the primary bath, and the largest closet in each room. Box up the excess, and if you can, move it out, because a de-cluttered home photographs better and shows bigger.
You do not have to do it alone or all at once. We will make a simple list of what to pack, what to toss, and what can stay, and you can work through it on your own schedule.
The point is not perfection. It is showing the space the home actually has.
On the North Shore
Coastal North Shore homes often carry generations of belongings, especially in towns where sellers have lived for decades. A little help early, from a donation schedule to a dumpster week, makes the whole process calmer.
