Real Questions You May Be Hesitant to Ask · Straight answer from Kathleen
I've been thinking about selling, but I'm not ready yet. Is it too early to talk to an agent?
It is never too early, and in fact the earlier you talk, the better the eventual sale goes. You can absolutely ask what your home is worth with zero plan to list, and you can explore the 'should I move' question with no commitment at all.

- Can I ask what my house is worth even if I'm not planning to sell?
- I'm not sure whether I should move. Where do I start?
Thinking about selling is exactly the time to get your options clear: what the home could bring, what a move would cost, and what your realistic next chapter looks like. That clarity is what makes the eventual decision easy instead of scary.
You might find that selling now makes sense, or that waiting a year looks better on paper, or that you want to test a town by renting first. All of those are valid outcomes of the same conversation.
There is no obligation attached to asking, and honestly many of my best client relationships start a year or more before the listing.
On the North Shore
The North Shore market rewards early planning: knowing your town's next-year outlook, your home's value trajectory, and the seasonal calendar gives you choices that reactive sellers simply do not have.
